Moved by the disquiet of the forgotten space, the abandoned building or a nocturnal petrol station, Tim Goffe’s painterly style is a balance of precision and expressive mark-making, and has developed from his desire to translate, fleeting moments of observed malaise, into oil paintings. He looks for beauty in the ordinary, and meaning in the banal.
He believes there is a place in contemporary art for observational, figurative artists.
With the Private View taking place on Thursday 2nd November and open to the public from Friday 3rd, this is a show that steps away from fashion and focuses on an artist's attitude towards structural, emotive visuals, that do not usually sit together.
